Chasing Arrows began with Nate Fender (Beta Gamma ’07), in the fall of 2005 at Christopher Newport University where he met lead singer Graham Todd. Shortly after this the band was formed. About a year and a half later, drummer Joe Hamm (Beta Gamma ’09) was asked to join. With four years under their belt, a few lineup changes, and a name change, Chasing Arrows is ready to take on the world with a unique rock sound that’s been missing in mainstream music.
In the summer of 2007, Chasing Arrows entered into a Best Music on Campus competition and competed nationally via fan vote for the chance to open for the Plain White T’s. Chasing Arrows won the South East region of the United States and played at the Six Flags in Atlanta Georgia in front of thousands of fans! The band was well received and it was a major turning point in the band’s history.
Brothers Fender and Hamm would like to call on the brotherhood of Kappa Delta Rho for support in their effort to be recognized as the top campus band in the country by MTV-U. To make this happen, all you have to do is vote online at http://www.bestmusiconcampus.com/contests/woodies2008b.aspx.
If you would like to contact the band and Brothers’ Fender and Hamm don’t hesitate to e-mail them at chasingarrows@gmail.com.
