After a year of hard work in improving their chapter operations, outreach to the community, and academics the Kappa Beta Chapter sweeps the Greek community annual awards at Edinboro University. This would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the team effort between dedicated alumni, staff and undergraduates.
During the 2014 spring semester Stuart Jackson, Kappa Beta, ’15 was elected to be Consul of the chapter. At the Consuls Academy he stated he was going to work with his Brothers to revive the Kappa Beta Chapter. Stuart with his fellow undergraduate Brothers rengaged Brother JC Lopez, Kappa Beta, ’01 and Zac Smith, Kappa Beta, ’08 and several other alumni to begin working on their internal operations. It was through the hard work of several chapter retreats with Alumni and Director of Fraternal Operations, Lauren Hopkins that the undergraduates began to develop their path back to prominence at Edinboro University. All of that hard work paid off this past weekend when the chapter brought home the following awards: Highest New Member Grade Point Average; Best Chapter President; and Chapter of the Year for Edinboro University. In addition to these awards five individual Brothers were recognized for their academic achievements as well.
The Brothers at Kappa Beta are truly an example of what it means to be a Brother of Kappa Delta Rho.
