Dear Worthy Consul,
Congratulations on becoming Chapter President! We are excited about working with you to assist you in reaching your goals for the chapter. Last year was chaotic, at best, with all the health and safety measures placed on us as a Fraternity, nationally, locally and as individuals. Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods yet with this pandemic and we must continue to take necessary precautions to keep our KDR family safe. While we want to visit all our chapters during this academic year we will be prioritizing in-person visits to those chapters with the greatest need. Every chapter will continue to receive the full level of virtual and remote coaching we have been providing since the start of the pandemic.
Resumption of in-person chapter visits to those chapters this academic year will begin at host institutions that have a vaccine mandate in place for their campus community. Additionally, each member of the Chapter’s Executive Board must be able to present their vaccination card to the National Office.
If a chapter’s host institution has a mandate, we will visit, where applicable, the host institution’s OFSL staff in-person per the institution’s guidelines. However, we will only meet in-person those members of the Executive Board who are able to provide a scan of their vaccination card to our Office Assistant, Nicole Pickerd. A copy of that scan will be retained in each Brother’s secure database record. You have until the end of business on Tuesday, January 18, to provide us with verification of your Executive Board’s vaccination status. The verification should be completed on MyKDR on the vaccination and event form.
It is important to note, for those who do not provide a record of their vaccination, we will assume you were not vaccinated and then all your meetings will be held virtually. For those chapters who do not have a vaccine mandate, we will not be visiting their campus. However, if the Chapter Executive Committee can provide proof of vaccinations, we will make every effort to come to your area and visit with the officers under controlled conditions, which include all participants being masked.
For information on COVID-19 we ask you to visit the CDC’s site by clicking here. You also can visit MyKDR at KDR.com where you will find information regarding operating your chapter during the pandemic.
Again, we are excited to the new academic year and really look forward to seeing you. For us to come fully out of the other side of this pandemic we must do our part in stopping the spread of the virus.
