BROTHER FURMAN NAMED ONE OF “20 TO WATCH” BY NSBA
Recognition Honors Thought Leaders in the Application of Educational Technology
GREENSBURG, PA – The National School Boards Association’s (NSBA) Technology Leadership Network (TLN) recently honored Brother L. Robert Furman, Mu Alpha ’95, as one of its “20 to Watch” for 2012-2013. The “20 to Watch” honors leaders from across the country for their ability to inspire colleagues to incorporate innovative technology solutions that contribute to high-quality learning environments and more efficient school district operations. “The ‘20 to Watch’ honorees offer school board members and other leaders real-world stories that help them evaluate the intersection of policy and practice when it comes to today’s emerging technologies,” said Ann Flynn, NSBA’s Director of Educational Technology.
Brother Furman believes technology should be embraced as a standard educational practice and leads by example. He is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, is author of Instructional Technology Tools: A Professional Development Plan, and regularly shares his ideas, both virtually and in person, with audiences across the country. He is also the principal at South Park Elementary Center in South Park, Pennsylvania were he inspires and engages with students on a daily basis.
