ROBERT D. LYND TO BE AWARDED NIC GOLD MEDAL
Highest NIC Award Recognizes Longtime Commitment to the Fraternal Movement
GREENSBURG, PA – Robert D. Lynd, Iota ’67, has been selected as a recipient of the 2013 North-American Interfraternal Conference (NIC) Gold Medal, the highest honor that the NIC bestows. The award will be formally presented at a banquet during the NIC Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri on April 14th. The Gold Medal is presented for lifelong service to the interfraternal community and the NIC awards committee takes into account tenure of service, interfraternal leadership, and a dedication to advancing the fraternal movement. Recipients of the Gold Medal are models of selfless service, visionary leadership, and courage of conviction.
Active within the fraternal community for more than 50 years, Brother Lynd has volunteered as a director and officer of Kappa Delta Rho for more than 30 years and lent his talents to the larger fraternal movement with service to the NIC, its legal committee, and the Flat Hat Society. He is a past NIC President, past president of Kappa Delta Rho, and continues to be an active member in his local community and home chapter at Bucknell University.
